This is the removeable #25 pilot jet, as specified for the 1968 Amal Concentric carburetors, as well as the later Amal MK2 models. The #25 pilot jet is the most commonly used size within the range of #15-#60 jets. Not compatible with Amal Premier Concentric carburetors.
Sourced from the UK, the genuine Amal brass pilot jet is flow-rated in terms of ‘CC’, and the size is indicated with “25” stamped on the top of the jet. Is used as both a pilot jet and cold-start jet in the Amal MK2 carburetors, although in varying sizes for each application.
The pilot jet is precision calibrated for idle and off-idle fuel control. Sizes vary, with the smaller identifying numbers providing leaner flow and the larger sizes providing a richer flow through the idle circuit.
On the earliest Amal Concentric carburetors, the pilot jet is threaded into the bottom of the carburetor body and is exposed to the float chamber bowl. The pilot and cold-start jets are threaded into the float chamber bowl on the Amal MK2 carburetors.Â
Note: This is not the Pilot Jet fitted to Amal Premier Series Carbs.
