Dunlop K70: Traditional Styling for Classic Motorcycles

Dunlop positions the K70 as a vintage street tire with classic styling. Its traditional appearance makes it an option for restoration projects and classic motorcycles whose owners want to retain a period-style look.

Our K70 selection includes:

  • 3.25 × 19 — part number TBS-31-0115.
  • 4.00 × 18 — part number TBS-31-0100.

Both listings identify selected Triumph, BSA, Norton, AJS, and Matchless applications. These references are a starting point for selection, not a guarantee that either size fits every motorcycle from those manufacturers. Confirm the tire size and rim requirements for your particular wheel assembly.

Dunlop K81/TT100: A Tire with Triumph Racing Heritage

The K81/TT100 has a direct connection to British motorcycle history. In 1969, Malcolm Uphill rode a works Triumph Bonneville to victory at the Isle of Man TT, recording a fastest lap of 100.37 mph on Dunlop K81 tires. Dunlop renamed the K81 the TT100 to commemorate the first production tire used to achieve a lap above 100 mph on the Mountain Course.

Today, Dunlop offers the K81/TT100 as a vintage street tire in selected sizes. It is a separate range from the newer TT100 GP Radial, so use the exact model designation when comparing tires or checking specifications.

Our K81/TT100 collection includes:

  • 4.10-19, 60H — listed for selected Triumph and Norton front/rear applications, part number TBS-K81-19.
  • 4.25/85-18, 64H — listed for Triumph TR7 and T140 rear-wheel applications, part number TBS-K81-18.

Choosing Between the K70 & K81/TT100

Both ranges sit within Dunlop’s vintage motorcycle tire collection, but they are not interchangeable solely because they suit classic motorcycles. They have different available sizes, specifications, and styling. Start with the requirements of your motorcycle and its fitted wheels, then compare the appropriate product listings.dunlopmotorcycletires+2

The K70 offers Dunlop’s traditional classic styling, while the K81/TT100 brings the appearance and heritage associated with the TT100 range. Select the correct application first rather than treating one tire family as a universal upgrade over the other.

Check Tire Size, Rim Compatibility & Wheel Position

Before purchasing, confirm:

  • The tire size required for your motorcycle.
  • The diameter and width of the fitted rim.
  • Whether the product is appropriate for the intended front or rear position.
  • The required load and speed rating.
  • Tube requirements and any changes from the original wheel configuration.dunlopmotorcycletires+1

Dunlop lists the K70 and K81/TT100 sizes represented in this collection as tube-type tires. Its specifications also identify rim requirements and load/speed ratings by size. If your motorcycle has nonstandard wheels, select against the actual wheel specifications rather than relying only on a model-name application.
