Lacing a Cross 3 Pattern Rear Disc Wheel
A note about Lacing a Cross 3 Pattern Rear Disc Wheel: Your new rim may not lace up in the same pattern of your existing rim.
For example, the Triumph disc rear from the factory used a couple of different dimple patterns of their rims, some used a 3 x 1 pattern, and some used a 1×1 cross through pattern.
Here is a step-by-step process for lacing your Devon rim.

- Start with hub resting on the flat parts of the hub for the disc or drive.

2. With the blocks under the rim, set them to the correct offset.

3. Remove the rim and add your inner spokes to the hub.

4. Put the inner spokes from one side of the hub into the rim.

5. Important! Put in the other side of the inners, it should look like this. If not, see next instruction.

6. Important! Inner spoke lengths from either side should have thread exposed on the inside. If not, don’t carry on. Either you aren’t crossing enough or spokes on one side of the hub need to move around one hole. See next photo.

7. Important! If not, you may need to move all spokes round one hole on just one side of the hub.

8. Inner spokes in and outer from one side.

9. Both sides of inners in.

10. If required, due to offset, you can tap down outer spokes lightly near the hub.

11. Cross Pattern 3: This refers to how many times the outer spokes cross over the inner spokes on the same side of the hub. This hub is a cross three as shown here.
