Modern solid-state regulator/rectifier charging modules are an effective way to upgrade the existing charging system found on vintage British motorcycles. This new production Lucas module features “Superseal” connectors for a waterproof connection, along with a “fly lead” for connection to an existing wiring harness. Ideal for use with the Lucas wiring harnesses designed for electronic ignition and charging module upgrades. Not compatible with high-output single-phase or three-phase stators.
Compatible with any 12 volt 10 amp Lucas RM21 single-phase alternator-equipped British motorcycle, this genuine Lucas charging module can also be fitted to earlier 6 volt machines with Lucas RM19 8 amp stators, as part of the conversion to 12 volt electrics. Supplied with bullet connectors, sleeves, spade terminals, and a quick-detach fly lead for use with conventional wiring harnesses. Installation instructions are included with the kit.
The solid-state regulator module replaces the original zener diode voltage regulator and silicon rectifier, as specified on 1960s and 1970s-era British motorcycles. The vibration-resistant charging module is one of the most cost-effective upgrades for your vintage motorcycle’s charging system.
The rectifier and zener diode are disconnected and removed from the motorcycle. The wires leading to the rectifier can be used to connect the module, or in the case of the new production Lucas wiring looms designed for use with this module, the quick-detach connector is plugged into the sealed connector present in the harness.
