Speedwell mudguards are the most authentically reproduced mudguards on the market. This rear guard is constructed of heavy gauge stainless steel and is supplied with a modest polished finish. Suitable fitment for all 1971-1973 BSA and Triumph oil in frame 650 models with conical hub rear wheels, where an unpainted stainless steel finish is desired.
Made in the UK with original tooling, the unfinished and undrilled steel fender features the correct beaded nose, reliefs for the chainguard and the crease for battery carrier clearance. Careful polishing of stainless steel can result in a near chrome appearance with the added benefit of corrosion resistance.
The rear mudguard not only provides protection to the motorcycle from the elements but also serves as a fixing point for the tail lamp and license plate brackets.
The rear mudguard is fixed to the front frame section with a bracket mounted to the forward lower section of the guard. It is recommended to used a stepped drill bit on stainless steel for drilling the holes for the mounting brackets, tail lamp, and grab rail.
