Although this non-skirted chainguard is the correct fitment for the 1969 and 1970 Triumph 650 models, it can also be fitted to the 1964-1968 models where the absence of the protective skirt is desired.

Sourced from the UK, this chainguard is a quality manufactured reproduction made to the original specifications and finished in black. Can replace the earlier 82-5737, 82-6257, and 82-7067 skirted chainguards.

The chainguard is fitted to the swinging arm to offer protection to the rear of the motorcycle frame and rear tire in the event of a broken chain while riding the motorcycle. The chainguard also partially encloses the drive chain to prevent oil and road grime from fouling the motorcycle and rider.

Removing the rear wheel to fit the chainguard is usually required to avoid damaging the finish of the guard. The front and rear of the chainguard have tabs located to attach to the swinging arm. The chainguard outer panel will have to be drilled for mounting the brake switch.

Note: Depending upon our supplier, these sometimes arrive bare steel or painted / powdercoated black and may or may not be drilled for the brake switch. If you have a preference, please contact us prior to purchase to check our current supply.
