The alloy finned clamp is used on the “push-in” exhaust pipes, as originally fitted to the 1972-1980 Triumph 650 and 750 twin-cylinder models. Not compatible with the T140D models. This listing is for (1) clamp.
Sourced from LF Harris, in the UK, the aluminum finned exhaust clamp measures 1-3/8″ ID. This clamp requires a mounting screw, nut and washer, which is not included with the bare clamp.
The finned collar fits around the exhaust pipe and abuts to the exhaust port on the cylinder, effectively making it a heat sink for the exhaust header pipe.
The collar is slid over the exhaust pipe prior to fitment into the cylinder head, then pushed against the head and tightened into place. Care must be taken to not overtighten the collar, as it can crack as a result.
