The distance piece is an important component in the rear wheel axle assembly as it establishes the correct position of the speedometer drive unit for proper engagement with the driving ring.
The spacer is a plain steel bush that slides over the spindle to support the body of the speedometer drive unit in the swinging arm when the rear spindle is tightened. Measures 1-1/16″ long, 1″ OD, and 25/32″ ID. Made in the UK.
The spacer is captured between the wheel bearing’s inner race and the body of the speedometer drive unit and when fitted is not visible.
The right side spindle nut must be removed and the spindle withdrawn to allow the wheel to drop down for speedometer drive inspection and service.
