The dual seat is a visually prominent part of the restored motorcycle, and the seat cover should be finished in the correct pattern and color. This black ribbed top cover is correct for many of the 1967 and 1968 Triumph 500 and 650 models.
The cover features black piping around the top of the cover and is finished off with a separate trim strip around the base of the cover. The Triumph logo is applied in a bright gold finish at the rear of the seat. Quality manufactured in the UK.Â
Although correct for the 1967-1968 models, the cover can be fitted to the 1969-1970 650 models and 1969-1974 500 models for those that prefer the smooth ribbed pattern over the basketweave pattern, as fitted to the later models with the same shaped seat pan and seat foam.
The seat cover is stretched over the foam padding and seat pan and retained by either sprags, seat pan tabs, or adhesive. Seat recovering requires skills that may be best reserved for a professional upholstererÂ
