Established in 1990, the Devon Rim Company Ltd has been a purveyor of the finest wheel goods available worldwide for vintage British motorcycles. Their “TRU” Dunlop profile and finish offer the most authentic replacement rims for the restorer. This wheel rim will suit 1976-1982 Triumph twin-cylinder 750 models equipped with rear disc brake hubs and WM3-18 rims. Not suitable for fitment to Triumph and BSA 750 triple models equipped with 19″ rear rims.

This WM3-18 rim is top quality Devon Valtru chrome-plated steel, manufactured and finished in the UK. The restoration-quality rim features stampings that mimic the original Dunlop patterns. The dimples are pierced to accept .300″ spoke nipples, as an update to the 9 gauge spokes and nipples occurred at the factory after the 1976 model year.

Chrome-plated rims offer a bright and corrosion-resistant finish and are an excellent choice for restorations where authenticity is of paramount importance. Modern manufacturing standards ensure safe and attractive wheels for superior reliability on the road.

Wheel building is a specialized skill and requires patience and specialty tools. A wheel truing stand will be beneficial for achieving a trued wheel and safely finished product. Refer to the specific model’s workshop manual for more details on rim lacing and correct offset specifications. In many cases, wheel building is best left to an experienced wheel smith.

A note about lacing wheels: Your new rim may not lace up in the same pattern of your existing rim.

For example, the Triumph disc rear from the factory used a couple of different dimple patterns of their rims, some used a 3 x 1 pattern and some used a 1×1 cross through pattern

Start with just your inner spokes, remembering that all spokes on the left-hand side of the hub go to the right-hand dimples and vice versa. When all the inners look like they are going the right direction, you can move onto his longer and shorter outer spokes depending on his offset.
