The universal 51″ brake or clutch cable solves the problem of non-standard handlebar or front brake fitment. The universal cable is also useful for fitment to obscure machines where stock cables are not available.
Heavy duty construction thick inner wire is suitable for use as a clutch cable with the appropriate style end nipple soldered in place. The barrel end for the control lever is factory bonded in place, with the opposite end open to allow the sheathing and inner wire to be cut to length to suit the application. For front brake use, we suggest the 60-0638 universal clamp-on brake cable end, which obviates the need for soldering.
The universal cable offers flexibility in cable selection for custom applications. The fixed barrel is compatible with virtually all vintage British motorcycle clutch and brake control levers.
Generally, a correctly soldered nipple will be suitable for clutch applications, although soldering a nipple or clevis to the end of the cable for front brake use requires considerable skill and superior materials, due to the force required to stop a motorcycle.
