This front brake cable is specified for the 1969-1970 US-market BSA and Triumph 500, 650, and 750 models with the 8″ twin-leading front brake drum. The T100 models also used this cable through 1972.
The two-piece brake cable features an integrated brake switch, inline adjuster, and clevis. The overall length is 46-1/2″ (including the clevis), with a sheath length of 37-1/2″ and an inner wire free length of 6-3/4″. Economically priced and quality construction from Emgo.
The cable is the link between the control lever on the handlebar and the operating arm on the brake plate. It is important that the length of the cable is correct for the application. This cable has an inline adjuster for fine tuning the cable tension and maximizing the stopping power of the front brake.
The barrel end of the cable is fitted into the control lever on the handlebar, while the opposite end has a clevis, which fits over the operating arm at the brake plate and is retained with a pin. It is important to lubricate the barrel fitting where it swivels within the control lever to prevent binding and ensure a long service life. Refer to the factory workshop manual for guidance when fitting cables.
