Properly sized throttle cables are essential for safe and correct adjustments to the throttle and carburetor. This throttle cable is suitable for the 1966-1967 T120R and T120TT models with dual Amal 389 Monobloc carburetors, dual twist-grip throttle and US-specification handlebars. Also suits the 1967 T100R models with Amal 376 Monobloc carburetors. This listing is for (1) or (2) cables. A matched set of (2) throttle cables is used for use with a dual-pull twist grip.
Featuring threaded inline adjusters and lined cable housings, these throttle cables from LF Harris are made to the original specifications. With an overall length of 43″, 40″ sheath length, and an inner wire free length of 2-7/8″, these cables are the correct fitment for the 1966-1967 Triumph T120R and T120TT models with stock handlebars, and Amal 389 Monobloc carburetors. Can also be fitted to the 1967 T100R model with Amal 626 Monobloc carburetors.
This quality cable features an inline adjuster, correct top hat ferrule at the carburetor end, and a friction-reducing nylon sheath lining for easy operation and longevity.Â
The cable is pulled by the motion of the twist grip, allowing it to raise and lower the throttle slide in the carburetor. Fine adjustments to cable lash are made by the inline barrel adjuster on the cable. As this cable is meant for fitment to a dual-pull throttle on the twin-carburetor Bonneville models, (2) throttle cables are required.
Each carburetor’s top cap must be removed to thread the cable through the top cap. The return spring is installed over the cable, then the cable is captured in the throttle slide. The needle and clip are fitted to the slide, with the return spring compressed so it is out of the way. The twist grip body must be separated to access the rotor, which pulls the end of the cables.
