A properly sized throttle cable is essential for safe and correct adjustments to the throttle and carburetors. This cable fits the 1968 Triumph 500 T100C model specified with the Amal 626 carburetor and the 28″ wide handlebar. This listing is for (1) cable.
Made in the US by Barnett, this premium quality cable features an inline adjuster, alloy ferrules, and a friction-reducing nylon lining for easy operation and longevity. Overall length measures 44-1/2″, sheath length is 40-1/2″, with an inner wire free length of 3-1/2″.
The cable is pulled by the motion of the twist grip, allowing it to raise and lower the throttle slide in the carburetor. Fine adjustments to cable lash are made by the in-line barrel adjuster on the cable.
The carburetor top cap must be removed to thread the cable through the top cap. The return spring is installed over the cable, then the cable is captured in the throttle slide. The needle and clip are dropped in the slide bottom, with the return spring compressed so it is out of the way. The twist grip body must be separated to access the rotor, which pulls the end of the cable.
