Genuine Lucas contact breaker points set as fitted to Triumph & BSA twins 1968-1972. These may also fit Norton, Matchless, etc. Check your parts book for proper fitment. Replaces Lucas PN# 54419827
With the gap and timing correctly set, the opening of the contact points interrupts the current at the ignition coil, sending a spark to the spark plug.
The coil(s) and condenser(s) must be in good condition to provide reliable ignition. The points are fitted to a plate with adjustment provisions for gap and static timing at full advance. Consult your workshop for more details on ignition timing procedures.
