These fork stanchion tubes are specified for the 1965-1967 unit-construction Triumph T90, T100, TR6, and T120 models equipped with non-shuttle valve internals. The 1964 models used a different style of lower members than the 1965-1967 models, and the fork tubes carried a part number of 97-1649, however the 97-1889 fork tubes are the superceded part number and are compatible with the 1964 models.
These hard-chromed fork stanchion tubes are sourced from LF Harris and are manufactured in the UK to original specifications. The stanchions measure 22″ long, 1-5/16″ OD, and are threaded 26 TPI on both ends of the tubes.
The fork tubes slide within the lower members and are supported by bronze bushings. The dust excluder sleeve nuts house the oil seals, which also interface with the chromed surface of the fork tubes. The finish quality of the fork tube is critical in making a good seal and preventing stiction.
The front wheel and mudguard must be removed to allow replacement of the fork tubes. The fork oil seal holders must be unthreaded from the fork lower members to gain access to the fork stanchion assembly. The factory workshop manual procedures should be followed to ensure proper assembly of the front fork. A special fork tube puller tool makes reassembly easy. We offer the tool kit under part number TBS-5469.
LF Harris motorcycle spares are produced to the highest quality standards possible utilizing original Triumph tooling, dies, factory blueprints & materials combined with modern manufacturing equipment, tolerances & techniques.
