1978 Triumph Front Fender 97-7012Â
While this mild steel front mudguard was originally specified for the 1978 UK-market Triumph 750 twins with painted guards, it can also be fitted to the 1977 and later models specified with the support bridge and 5-hole mounting arrangement.
The genuine UK-made Speedwell 1978 Triumph front fender is supplied in unfinished mild steel, ready for paint preparation. There are drillings for the mounting bridge and lower fender stay. The arc length is approximately 36-1/2″”, with a cord length of approximately 25-1/2″.
The mudguard offers protection from the elements and the mounting bridge serves as a fork brace, stabilizing the front fork assembly during cornering and hard braking.
Pre-drilled mudguards may require some slight fitting adjustments to align the mounting bridge and lower stay tabs with the holes in the fender. Once fitment is confirmed with the bridge and lower stay mounted on the fender to the fork, the assembly can be disassembled and the finish applied to the raw steel mudguard.
