Suitable for use on later vintage Triumph and Norton models with pin connectors in the wiring system, as well as many other modern American and metric motorcycle applications, the RM Stator ratcheting wire crimping pliers make professional-quality crimps on insulated wires with insulated or non-insulated terminals. Not suitable for use with Lucas bullet connectors which require a hexagonal crimp.

The crimping pliers use a ratcheting design that allows for easy operation when joining spade and pin connectors to thinner gauge wires, as used in multi-pin connectors, etc. The 3 positions in the jaws are suitable for 0.5-1mm (18-20 AWG), 1.5-2.5mm (14-16 AWG), and 4-6mm (10-12 AWG). The compact 9″ length allows for use in restricted areas where limited working clearance exists.

The jaws feature specially stepped cutouts that double-crimp both the exposed non-insulated wiring that makes the electrical connection, as well as the insulated portion of the wire, resulting in a durable and reliable crimp.

First, the wire must have approximately 1/4″ of insulation stripped to reveal bare wire strands, which are then lightly twisted. After determining which position on the tool’s jaws is appropriate for the wire size being crimped, the terminal is placed into the jaws of the crimper and held in place loosely to allow the wire to be inserted. Once the orientation of the wire and terminal are confirmed, the jaws of the pliers are closed to secure the crimp. Once pressure is released from the tool’s handles, the jaws ratchet open and the crimp is complete.
Suitable for insulated terminals 9″ long
