If you’re fighting a slipping clutch or a lever pull that feels like a hand workout, this economic 7‑plate conversion is the practical fix that delivers real results without paying “full kit” pricing. It increases total clutch friction area by adding a 7th friction plate, helping the clutch hold better—and because the pack grips more effectively, many riders can run lighter springs for a smoother, easier pull.
What you get
- 7 friction plates
- 1 additional plain steel plate (you’ll reuse your existing 6 plain steel plates to complete the stack)
Fitment
- Triumph unit 650/750 twins: 1963–1982
- Triumph unit 500 twins: approx. 1966–1974
- BSA twins: A50 & A65, 1966–1972
- Requires a 3‑spring clutch
When installed properly with lighter clutch springs PN# 57-1560 you’ll have less hand cramping, less slippage and way more riding enjoyment! Utilizes existing 6 steel clutch plates which we stock as well if yours are worn.
We have a premium version as well TBS-0213.
