Norton 7/8″ Semi Western Handlebars 06-1046
The “Semi-Western” handlebar bend was specified for the US-market Norton Commando Roadster, Fastback, and Interstate models from 1970 through 1975, although it may also be suitable fitment for the 1968-1969 models. Can also be fit to other motorcycles specified with 7/8″ handlebars, but there are no drillings for the dipper/horn switch, as used on Triumph models.
This chrome plated handlebar measures 32″ wide, 4-1/4″ rise, with 7″ pullback, and a 7/8″ OD. Sourced from TJ Wassell in the UK.
The wide Semi-Western bend offers ample room for the switchgear and front brake master cylinder assemblies, making it ideal for use on later 1970s models with front disc brakes and turn signals.
The handlebar is mounted to the top fork yoke with clamps, which must be removed from the top fork yoke to facilitate handlebar replacement. Attention must be paid to the length and routing of the control cables when fitting the handlebar, particularly when retrofitting the handlebar to a non-stock application.
Please note: Due to varying bans on the use of hexavalent chrome in the chroming process, this item will have varying appearance different than OEM standards. Chromers are frequently using trivalent in their processes. “It’s just not the same color. Hexavalent has that clear blue sheen, but trivalent is more grayish and smoky. Trivalent will not replace the look of hexavalent.”
