This reproduction rear brake cam lever is suitable for fitment to the Triumph C-range models from 1968-1974. The cast “yoke”-type brake arm may also replace the earlier part number 37-1487, as specified for the early unit-construction 350 and 500 models from the early 1960s.
The cast brake arm features a zinc-plated finish and is shaped to allow the brake operating rod to clear the left shock absorber. Overall length is approximately 5″. The opening for the pivot pin is 9/16″ and the square hole is 7/16″ x 7/16″. Made in the UK by LF Harris.
Operated by the rear brake rod through a pivot pin, this lever is fitted to the cam on the brake plate. When rotated forward, the cam expands the brake shoes outward against the brake drum.
The brake rod adjuster must be loosened off and removed to release the rod from the pivot pin. Once the assembly is disassembled, the retaining nut and washer can be removed to gain access to the brake cam lever. The lever return spring must be disengaged from the lever.
