This rear brake cam lever is suitable for fitment to the Triumph 500 and 650 models from 1965 through 1967. The arm is flat with a square receiver for fitment to the brake cam and has a hole that locates the brake rod pivot pin.
The overall length of the brake lever is 4″, and the hole for the pivot pin is 9/16″. Finished in a light silver plating. Made in the UK.
The brake arm is fitted to the end of the brake cam and secured with a flat washer and a 3/8″ nut. A return spring that is fixed to the brake plate controls the motion of the brake arm. The brake operating rod is the nexus between the brake pedal and the brake arm on the rear brake plate. The brake rod passes through the pivot pin on the brake arm and is secured and adjusted with a special threaded adjuster.
The brake rod adjuster must be loosened off and removed to release the rod from the pivot pin. Once the assembly is disassembled, the nut and washer on the brake cam can be removed to gain access to the brake cam lever. The brake lever return spring must be disengaged from the lever.Â
