The upper choke cable is part of an assembly comprised of (1) upper cable, junction box (or splitter), and (2) lower cables. This cable is fitted from the choke lever to the top of the junction box. May also be suitable fitment for some BSA applications.
The overall length is approximately 26-1/2″, with a sheath length of 23″ and an inner wire free-length of 3-1/2″. The inline adjuster allows for fine cable lash adjustments. Genuine Doherty cable made the UK.
With the assembly complete, the upper cable raises and lowers the internal block inside of the splitter, which in turn allows both of the lower cables to operate the choke blocks in the carburetors in unison.
The two halves of the junction box must be separated to allow the cable to be fitted to the internal block. The carburetor top caps must also be removed to raise the choke blocks far enough out of the slides to release the tension on the lower cables, so that the upper cable can be fitted to the junction box block.
