Properly sized choke cables are essential for safe and correct adjustments to the choke valve and carburetor. This cable assembly is suitable for the US-specification Triumph T120R twin-carburetor models with Amal 930 Concentric carburetors and handlebar-mounted choke lever. This listing is for (1) four-piece cable assembly consisting of:

  • one (1) lever to junction cable, PN# D683, 60-0683 or 60-1818.
  • two (2) junction to carb cables, PN# D684 or 60-0684.
  • one (1) junction box / cable splitter, PN# D685, 60-0685, 99-0341 or Amal PN# 244/104

This economically-priced quality cable assembly from Wassell features inline adjusters on all (3) cables, friction-reducing nylon sheath lining for easy operation and longevity, an original-style junction block, and the correct shouldered “top-hat” ferrules at the carburetor ends. Outer sheath length, including junction box is approximately 43-5/8″, with an inner wire free length of 4-5/8″. May be suitable for use in the 1968-1970 BSA A65L models also, when the carburetor top cap is drilled to accept the top hat ferrule.

The upper cable is pulled by the motion of the choke lever, allowing it to raise and lower the sliding fitting in the junction block. The lower cables are also fitted to the internal sliding fitting of the junction block and raise and lower the choke valves. Fine adjustments to cable lash are made by the inline barrel adjusters on the upper and lower cables.

Each carburetor top cap must be removed to thread the lower cable through the top cap. The cable passes through the brass sleeve and spring, through the slot in the choke valve, then is captured in the port in the bottom of the valve. Once fitted to the carburetors, the upper cable of the assembly can be fitted to the choke lever.
