This is the correct front brake cable assembly for the pre-unit 1954-1957 Tiger 100 and Tiger 110 models.
The front brake cable features a two-piece housing with a flexible upper sheathing and rubber cover, and a lower steel guide tube with an integrated barrel adjuster. The clevis is the correct style as used on various Triumph pre-unit models. Made in the UK. The overall length measures 42-1/4″, with a sheath and guide tube length of 35-1/2″, and 5-1/4″ of inner wire free length.
The cable is pulled by the front brake lever to activate the operating arm on the brake plate, applying the brake. When the brake control lever is released, the return spring on the operating arm retracts the arm and allows the wheel to spin freely. The brake cable inner wire must move smoothly within the housings to operate the brake safely.
The cable is connected to the handlebar control lever with the barrel end of the cable located in the lever, while the clevis at the lower end of the cable is attached to the brake operating arm with a pin. Once fitted, fine adjustments can be made with the inline barrel adjuster and locknut.
