The captured nut is important for properly securing the head-steady to the mounting fixture on the frame.

Special captured nut will not turn in the channel on the frame when the bolt is tightened.

The nut is fitted into channel where there is no access for a wrench to hold it from turning while the head steady bolt is tightened.
