The slotted swivel barrel is necessary for adapting brake and clutch cables with ball or pear-shaped ends to fit into the hole on control levers fitted to various British motorcycles.
This barrel fitting is supplied with many Barnett clutch and brake cables, although may be suitable fitment to other brand cables. Quality US-made Barnett slotted swivel measures 3/8″ OD and is 7/16″ long.
The barrel fits over the pear-shaped end of the control cable and is slotted to allow easy fitment requiring no soldering. The barrel is seated into the round bore on the control lever blade and articulates within the bore when the lever is actuated.
The slot allows the cable wire to pass through the barrel and engage the pear-shaped end of the inner wire. A smear of lubricant will ensure the barrel swivels freely in the bore, once fitted.
