New production 12 volt LED bulb with bayonet-style BA7S base, suitable for use as a high/low indicator or oil pressure warning light in many 1968-later British motorcycles. Excellent choice for use in machines with other LED bulbs installed in the lighting circuit.
This versatile dual-polarity LED bulb from Lucas features increased brightness, a low power consumption of 0.1 watts, and is a direct fit into existing Lucas-type 54945043 bulb holders. As a light-emitting diode, the current only flows in one direction, making this bulb ideal for use with other LED bulbs in the electrical system.
Vibration-resistant LEDs provide a longer service life than incandescent bulbs. The increased brightness also allows easier viewing of the warning lights while operating the motorcycle during the day. The 281 LED bulb is the perfect complement to the 446 LED head lamp bulb when used on positive ground 12 volt British motorcycles from the mid-1960s to the late 1970s.
The headlamp shell must be opened up to access the warning light bulbholder. The bulbholder is pressed into the plastic warning light housing and is simply pulled out. The original bulb is removed from the bulbholder by pressing downward and twisting anti-clockwise 1/4 turn. The new bulb is fitted in reverse order of removal, then the headlamp rim and glass reflector assembly is reinstalled into the shell.
