Properly sized throttle cables are essential for safe and correct adjustments to the throttle and carburetor. This throttle cable is suitable for the 1969-1973 T100R models with dual Amal 626 Concentric carburetors, dual twist-grip throttle and US-specification handlebars. This listing is for (1) cable.
This economically-priced quality cable from Emgo features an inline adjuster, friction-reducing nylon sheath lining for easy operation and longevity, and the correct shouldered “top-hat” ferrule at the carburetor end. Overall length is approximately 46-1/8″, sheath length is 42-1/4″, with an inner wire free length of 3-1/4″.
The cable is pulled by the motion of the twist grip, allowing it to raise and lower the throttle slide in the carburetor. Fine adjustments to cable lash are made by the inline barrel adjuster on the cable. As this cable is meant for fitment to a dual-pull throttle on the twin-carburetor Daytona models, (2) throttle cables are required.
Each carburetor’s top cap must be removed to thread the cable through the top cap. The return spring is installed over the cable, then the cable is captured in the throttle slide. The needle and clip are fitted to the slide, with the return spring compressed so it is out of the way. The twist grip body must be separated to access the rotor, which pulls the end of the cables.
