This set of billet alloy fork top nuts are of the one-piece design introduced in 1971 on the oil-in-frame BSA and Triumph 650 and 750 3-cylinder models. They also replace the two-piece inner and outer fork top nuts used on disc-brake equipped Triumph forks.
Machined from solid billet aluminum, these fork top nuts feature the extended tip to locate the internal fork springs and simplify front fork service while saving weight. The shallow recess for the decal is omitted on these custom fork top nuts. The threads are 20 TPI with an OD of .874″. Made in the US.
The fork top nuts are carefully threaded into the top of the fork tubes, aligning the internal fork spring and sealing the fork oil inside of the stanchion tube. The nuts also capture and position the gauge mounting brackets.
A large flat spanner or six-point socket is recommended for tightening the fork nuts once the position of the gauge mounting brackets is established.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These top fork nuts are 20 TPI with thread OD 7/8th” (.874″). Check the TPI of your forks before purchase to ensure fitment of these top nuts. See recommend links for a thread pitch gauge.
