The Thackery washers are a double spring washer that when compressed, offer resistance between fittings similar to a lock washer, but is used in applications where a fully locked nut is not desirable. When used in the pillion footrest, they allow the nut to retain the bolt and footrest, but do not interfere with the articulation of the folding footrest.
These Thackery washers are applicable for the following models:
- BSA A65 and A70 1971-1972
- Triumph T120 1961-1967
- Triumph 350, 500, and 650 models 1959-1970
- 1969-1974 T150 models
- Triumph 650 and 750 twins 1971-1982.
This double-spring Thackery washers are for fitment on 5/16″ bolts, such as pillion folding footrest bolts and oil in frame airbox bolts. Made in the UK. This listing is for multiple quantity washers.
The Thackery washers are used where spring resistance is needed to hold an assembly in place without fully tightening the bolt and nut, as in the case of an articulating folding footrest. They are also used under the retaining nuts on the airbox cover of the oil in frame models.
