The chrome lower fork yoke pinch bolts secure the fork tube stanchions and headlamp mounting “ears” to the lower fork assembly and are a prominent aesthetic component to the front fork assembly. Suitable for fitment to the 1969-1974 Triumph 500 twins and 1969-1970 650 and 750 twins and triples. This listing is for (2) bolts.
The bolts are threaded to 3/8″-24 TPI UNF and measure 2-1/4″ under head. They normally thread into a 3/8″-24 UNF Cleveloc nut on the backside of the lower fork yoke. Sourced from Tri-Cor, in the UK.
These bolts can also be used on 1969-1970 BSA twin models when a thin 3/8″-24 UNF nut is used, as they are 3/16″ shorter than the plain 21-0785 pinch bolt specified for the BSA models. Good thread engagement is critical to sufficiently tighten the bolts in this application. Can also be fitted to 1968 and earlier models originally specified with 3/8″-26 TPI CEI nuts, provided the correct UNF nuts are used.
The pinch bolts pass through the tabs in the headlamp ears and the holes in the lower fork yoke and are then tightened once the fork tubes are fully seated into the top fork yoke with the fork top nuts tightened.
