This set of exhaust header pipes are correct for the 1969-1970 Triumph 650 road-going twin models using the balance tube, as originally specified from the factory. The balance tube is sold separately under part number 70-9888.
Manufactured in the UK to exacting specifications by LF Harris, these exhaust headers are beautifully chrome plated. They measure 1-3/4″ OD on the flanged ends of the pipes that push over the threaded spigots and they accept a 1-3/8″ crossover tube. The flanged outlets measure 1-1/2″ OD.
The exhaust pipes are joined at the outlet stubs with a balance tube and are a push-over fit on the exhaust port spigots. Chrome steel finned clamps and lower stay brackets finish off the installation.
The balance tube helps stabilize the entire exhaust system, in addition to the 70-6857 lower stay brackets fitted to the crankcase and joined at the mounting tabs on each exhaust pipe. A separate long stay fitted underneath the frame is secured to the exhaust system by the left and right silencer clamps.
Please note: Due to varying bans on the use of hexavalent chrome in the chroming process, this item will have varying appearance different than OEM standards. Chromers are frequently using trivalent in their processes. “It’s just not the same color. Hexavalent has that clear blue sheen, but trivalent is more grayish and smoky. Trivalent will not replace the look of hexavalent.”
LF Harris motorcycle spares are produced to the highest quality standards possible utilizing original Triumph tooling, dies, factory blueprints & materials combined with modern manufacturing equipment, tolerances & techniques.
