These billet CNC-machined fork spindle caps are an upgrade from the original cast caps. Sold as a matching left and right-handed set, these are suitable for Triumph 750 disc brake-specific forks specified from 1973 through 1981. Not recommended for the T140D models with cast wheels and abbreviated front mudguard.
Sourced from Wassell in the UK, this pair of spindle caps feature the rounded mudguard lug, as on the original fork caps. They are “handed” to suit the specific stud patterns on each fork leg. Billet aluminum is much stronger than the original cast fork spindle caps, making this upgraded set resistant to cracking.
The spindle fork caps retain the front wheel when mounted to the lower fork legs. Plain nuts with spring washers secure the spindle caps. The extended lugs on the rear of the caps are drilled to accept the lower fender stay.
Once loosely fitted to the fork lower with the wheel in place, it is important to gradually tighten each nut diagonally and equally, maintaining an even gap between the front and rear of the spindle cap prior to torquing down the nuts to the recommended specification of 25 ft lbs.Â
