Properly sized throttle cables are essential for safe and correct adjustments to the throttle and carburetor.
Genuine UK-made Doherty throttle cable for the Triumph TR25W Trophy 250 model with the Amal 928 carburetor. Sheath length is 36″, with a free-length of 3-3/4″. The shouldered ferrule on the carburetor end of the cable is meant for use on drilled carburetor top caps, as fitted to Triumph models.
The cable is pulled by the motion of the twist grip, allowing it to raise and lower the throttle slide in the carburetor. Fine adjustments to cable lash are made by the in-line barrel adjuster on the cable.
The carburetor top cap must be removed to thread the cable through the top cap. The return spring is installed over the cable, then the cable is captured in the throttle slide. The needle and clip are dropped in the slide bottom, with the return spring compressed so it is out of the way. The twist grip body must be separated to access the rotor, which pulls the end of the cable.
May be compatible with BSA B25, B44, and B50 models with drilled carburetor top caps and the barrel adjuster omitted.
