The famous “Peashooter” silencers were specified as original equipment on the Norton Commando Roadster, Fastback, and Hi-Rider models from 1970-1974. Tapered to a long reverse cone, the sleek appearance and free-flowing design complement the performance characteristics of the Norton Commando models. This set is a matching pair of (2) silencers.
Finished in chrome-plating, the silencers have an ID of 1-3/8″ and an overall length of approximately 27″ with integrated welded-on mounting bosses on the backside. Made in the UK by TJ Wassell.
The silencer inlets are fitted over the 1-3/8″ ends of the exhaust header pipes and secured with clamps. Norton Commando models use an intricate system of asymmetrical brackets and rubber mounting elastomers for fitting the silencers to the aluminum “Z” plates on each side of the frame.
It is advisable to loosely install the exhaust system to allow for alignment adjustments prior to tightening the mounting hardware. Refer to the factory workshop manual for installation details.
