We have assembled this complete single-phase high-output alternator kit to simplify the ordering process when upgrading the charging system in your 1963-1978 Triumph 650 or 750 twin. The kit represents a nearly 15% savings over ordering all of the included items individually, making it a terrific value.
Included in the kit is the 47239 Lucas 16A high-output single-phase stator, 54202299 G Lucas magnetic rotor, TBS-4035 Podtronics 200 watt-capable regulator/rectifier, and a 57-1770 H heavy-duty primary chaincase gasket.
The integrity of the charging system is critical to the ability of the battery to provide voltage throughout the electrical system, particularly when an electronic ignition system is fitted. The Podtronics solid-state charging module replaces the original selenium rectifier and zener diode, and is capable of handling the high-output capacity of the 16A stator.
The primary chaincase cover must be removed to access the alternator. It is beneficial to mount the Podtronics charging module in a location on the chassis where airflow is allowed to pass over the module. Installation instructions are included with the module. Refer to the factory workshop manual for stator and rotor removal and installation procedures.Â
