The BSA gas tank mounting bracket is important as it secures the front of the tank to the frame.
The bracket is a steel cross member that is secured to the bottom of the 2 gallon BSA A50 and A65 petrol tank with bolts threaded into a boss on each side of the tank. The bracket is captured by a pointed lug on the frame and stabilized with a rubber bush. Made in the UK.
The tank mounting bracket is necessary to prevent vibration damage to the petrol tank seam by providing a solid mounting point at the front of the tank.
The BSA gas tank must be mounted to the frame using the central mounting hardware, then the bracket is offered to the underside of the tank and aligned with the lug on the frame prior to tightening the mounting bolts.
