Properly sized throttle cables are essential for safe and correct adjustments to the throttle and carburetors. This listing includes (1) of (2) throttle cables required for use with a dual-pull throttle on a 1968 Triumph T120R.
Featuring a long threaded inline adjuster and lined cable housing, this premium throttle cable from Barnett is made in the US to the highest standards. With an overall length of 44″, 40-3/4″ sheath length, and an inner wire free length of 3-1/4″, this cable is the correct fitment for the 1968 Triumph Bonneville model with a stock handlebar, and Amal 930 Concentric carburetors. May be suitable for fitment to other models requiring similar lengths.
The cable is pulled by the motion of the twist grip, allowing it to raise and lower the throttle slide in the carburetor. Fine adjustments to cable lash are made by the inline barrel adjuster on the cable. A shouldered “top hat” ferrule is fitted to the end of the cable sheath for direct fitment to the drilled carburetor top cap.
The carburetor top cap must be removed to thread the cable through the top cap. The return spring is installed over the cable, then the cable is captured in the throttle slide. The needle and clip are fitted to the slide, with the return spring compressed so it is out of the way. The twist grip body must be separated to access the rotor, which pulls the end of the cable.
