While generally considered a universal 3/8″ UNF bolt, this bolt is threaded all the way up the shank to make it suitable for threading into steel bosses, such as the left-side engine mounting plate on Triumph T150 models. Also specified for the engine steady stay on some BSA B50 models, as well as the engine to frame mounting plates on the 1969-1970 Triumph 650 models.
The fully threaded hex-head bolt is machined to 3/8″-24 TPI and measures 3/4″ under head. Finished in zinc plating for corrosion-resistance. Made in the UK.
This bolt can be used in various other applications where a short 3/8″ UNF bolt is called for, in most cases on 1969-later models.
The bolt is threaded into a nut or a boss and often is used with a flat or spring washer under head. An SAE 9/16″ spanner or socket fits the hexagonal head for loosening and tightening.
