The seat trim strip is an important and functional detail when recovering a dual seat. This black vinyl reproduction seat trim features a chrome-like inset, as specified for the later Norton Commando and Triumph 750 twin models.
The flexible vinyl seat trim is channeled to fit securely around the perimeter of the seat pan, protecting the upholstery from abrasions. The trim is 66″ long and is 3/4″ wide.
The trim strip can be fitted to an original seat or can finish off a reupholstery using a new seat cover. When cuts occur on the seat cover due to the sharp edge of the seat base, the seat trim effectively hides the damage and helps to prevent further damage.
The trim strip is pressed over the edge of the seat pan, forming an attractive bead around the base of the dualseat. Once fitted, any excess length can be easily cut off with diagonal pliers. Sprags are often used to secure the seat cover to the seat pan. The trim strip can effectively hide the exposed side of the sprags for a sharp finish to the seat assembly.
