The seat trim is an important and functional detail when recovering a dual seat. The black vinyl reproduction seat trim strip features a subtle ribbed pattern. While designated for the oil in frame 1971-1972 Triumph 650 models, this trim strip can also be fitted to the 1971-1972 BSA A65 and A70 models.
The flexible vinyl seat trim is channeled to fit securely around the perimeter of the seat pan, protecting the upholstery from abrasions. The trim is 54″ long and is 11/16″ wide.
The trim strip can be fitted to an original seat or can finish off a reupholstery using a new seat cover. When cuts occur on the seat cover due to the sharp edge of the seat base, the seat trim effectively hides the damage and helps to prevent further damage.
The trim strip is pressed over the edge of the seat pan, forming an attractive bead around the base of the dualseat. Once fitted, any excess length can be easily cut off with diagonal pliers. Sprags are often used to secure the seat cover to the seat pan. The trim strip can effectively hide the exposed side of the sprags for a nice finish to the seat assembly.Â
