This is the correct left-hand 1.25:1 speedometer drive unit for the 1975 Triumph T160 and Norton 850 Commando MK3 rear disc brake models with 19″ rear wheels. Must be paired with 150 mph speedometer. Not compatible with Triumph T150 and pre-Norton MK3 models.
This top quality reproduction speedometer drive gearbox from LF Harris in the UK is a direct replacement for the original Smiths BG5330/170. The wheel spindle hole is bored to 11/16″.
The speedometer drive gearbox is fitted over the rear wheel spindle onto the hub and the internal gear turns with the wheel. The internal gear drives the cable to the speedometer. This drive unit is mounted on the left side of the rear hub.
The rear wheel must be removed to withdraw the spindle and internal spacer that supports the speedometer drive unit. Consult the factory workshop for details on the procedure.
