This update kit is designed to replace the original short “tickler” on the earlier iterations of 600 and 900 series Amal Concentric carburetors.
The specially shrouded alloy plunger offers better protection from water and dirt intrusion into the float bowl and is more effective in operation due to its extended design.
The “tickler” is a plunger that depresses the float, which lifts the float needle, allowing petrol to enter the float bowl, as necessary during cold starts.
The carburetor float bowl must be removed to install the update kit into the carburetor body. The plunger is inserted upwards through the body and is retained by an alloy cylinder, topped with a spring and the shroud.
