Description

The clevis pin is used to connect the clevis, or shackle, to the brake actuating arm. Used widely on British motorcycles front drum brake cables from the 1940s through the 1970s.

The pin measures 5/8″ overall, 17/32″ under head, with an OD of 1/4″. Made in the UK.

A 1/16″ x 3/8″ split pin is fitted through a drilling on the end of the pin to secure the pin in the clevis and brake actuating arm. The pin allows the clevis to swivel over the brake arm.

The brake cable adjuster must be loosened off to allow for enough free length of the wire to assemble the junction of the brake cable clevis to the brake actuating arm. Once the assembly is complete, the brake cable tension can be readjusted as necessary.
