The front brake hose connecting the master cylinder to the top fork yoke is suitable for fitment to the UK-specification Triumph 750 twin and three-cylinder models and the Norton 850 MK3 models with low-rise handlebars. May also be used when a lower handlebar is retrofitted to a US-specification model.
Sourced from the UK, this hose features male threads on each end of the hose for direct fitment into the master cylinder and top fork yoke. Overall length is 6-1/2″, with a length of 5-3/8″ between the hex faces. Threaded ends are 3/8″-24 TPI.
Unlike the longer upper hose specified for the high-handlebar US-specification models, this hose does not have a banjo fitting on the master cylinder end. The short end is threaded directly into the master cylinder, while the long threaded end is routed through the top fork yoke and threaded into the metal Bundy pipe under the yoke.
When replacing the hose, the brake fluid must be drained prior to removing the hose from the master cylinder and Bundy pipe connector. DOT3 and DOT4 brake fluid can damage painted surfaces, so care must be taken to protect the petrol tank and other finished surfaces from contact with brake fluid during front brake service.
