This comprehensive 7-piece oil seal kit is intended for fitment to the Triumph 650 and 750 twins equipped with the 5-speed transmission. Oil seals are generally not included in complete gasket sets, so this kit is ideal when preparing for an engine overhaul.
The kit features (2) 70-4568 Timing cover seals, (2) 60-3500 Sprocket cover plate and Inner high-gear seals, (1) 57-1956 Kickstarter seal, (1) Outer high-gear seal, and the 71-1070 Sprocket o-ring. Note: the 60-3530 and 60-2640 Shifter spindle o-rings are not included with this set.
The oil seals are pressed or lightly drifted into place, forming an oil-tight seal between the oil-bearing cavity and the shaft that rotates within the inside of the seal.
The installation of rubber oil seals can be simplified by the application of a rubber lubrication, such as P-80, which aids in the fitment of the seal. Some engine builders prefer to freeze the seal prior to fitment into the bore.
