This distance piece, or spacer, is important to include when fitting the torque stay from the frame to the studs on the rocker boxes. There is a distance piece on each rocker box torque stay stud, so a total of (2) are used on the assembly.Â
The thick flat washer measures 3/8″ ID x 7/8″ OD and is 1/8″ thick. Zinc plated for a corrosion-resistant finish. Made in the UK.
Fitted over the central rocker box stud on each rocker box, the spacer protects the casting from the torque stay by lifting the stay off the casting. It is important to install the torque stay correctly to solidify the engine mounting in the frame.
The petrol tank must be removed in most cases to access the torque stay and the hardware associated with the fitment of the stay under the frame top tube.Â
