The hollow float was introduced in 1967 as original specification on the Amal Concentric 600 and 900 series carburetors. Improved fuel level adjustability was realized with the change to the float bowl on the Concentric models compared to the side float chamber on the previous Amal Monobloc models.
This original-style genuine Amal float is hollow and is made of nylon. Suitable for use with brass or aluminum viton-tipped float needles. Made in the UK.
The concentric arrangement of the float and float bowl around the main jet offers less sensitivity to the fuel surges that plagued the earlier Monobloc carburetors. The float pivots on a pin to open and close the float needle inlet valve.
The float bowl is held in place with two retaining screws and must be removed to access the float. Generally, the Concentric carburetor does not require removal from the manifold to remove the float bowl for service. A new gasket is recommended whenever removing the float bowl becomes necessary.Â
Will fit all Amal concentrics as well as Wassell Evolution carbs. One (1) float is enough to refit one (1) carb.
We also stock the Stay-Up floats, a vast improvement over the originals for just a few dollars more. See recommended links
