The solid-state 3-phase regulator and rectifier charging module is consolidated into one component for easy installation and function.
Genuine Lucas production charging module is suitable for fitment to British motorcycles fitted with a 3-phase stator, as was original equipment on 1979-later Triumph T140 models. Capable of handling up to 240 watts, this module has a quickly detachable plug for troubleshooting purposes and is complete with all of the needed connectors for a neat installation. Installation instructions are included.Â
The charging module can be used in either positive or negative ground electrical systems. The 3-phase charging system offers improved battery charging at lower engine speeds and represents an upgrade from single-phase systems. The rectifier function converts alternating current to direct current for battery charging, while the regulator function replaces the zener diode and prevents the battery from overcharging.
The existing zener diode and rectifier are isolated from the electrical system and replaced with the integrated charging module. The unit is fitted according to the complete installation instructions.Â
